Project Manager – Semiconductor Software Systems (Singapore)
Job description
ABOUT SIOUX
Sioux is a strategic high-tech solutions provider that develops, innovates and assembles complex high-tech systems
We have a team of over 1,200 dedicated engineers who either support our clients or serve as their Research and Development department. Our strong productivity allows us to speed up product development, giving our clients a competitive edge at a better cost-effectiveness.
As a rapidly growing employer, Sioux values its employees' growth and well-being. We invest in their career development and foster a positive work environment that promotes personal and professional growth.
SIOUX IN SINGAPORE
Sioux Singapore plays a pivotal role in the Asian market by offering R&D services from our centers across Europe and Asia to customers, leading development teams in Asia, from Singapore
This expansion allows us to meet the changing needs of our domestic and international (OEM) customers in the semiconductor, analytical, and medical industries.
About the role
We build software at the intersection of precision hardware and high-stakes production — control systems for semiconductor equipment, data analytics platforms that help fabs improve yield and process stability. Our clients include leading international OEMs and China's most ambitious domestic wafer manufacturers.
As a Project Manager, your world is divided into two fronts: keeping the internal team on track, and keeping the client relationship healthy. The technical direction is owned by our Software Architects — your job is to create the conditions in which great technical work can actually get delivered: clear scope, realistic schedules, aligned expectations, and no surprises on either side of the table.
Singapore sits at the centre of Southeast Asia's rapidly expanding semiconductor ecosystem — home to major fab investments from GlobalFoundries, Micron, and TSMC, and a regional hub for equipment OEMs operating across Asia. This role puts you at that intersection.
What you'll do
Internal — planning and delivery control
Own the project schedule: build realistic plans, track progress against them, and intervene early when things drift
Run the delivery rhythm — sprint planning, stand-ups, risk reviews, retrospectives — keeping the team focused and unblocked
Identify risks, dependencies, and scope changes before they become problems; escalate with proposed solutions, not just flags
Maintain clear project documentation: schedules, decision logs, action items, and acceptance criteria
Work closely with Tech Leads and Architects to translate delivery status into something the client can understand — without misrepresenting technical reality
External — client relationship and scope management
Serve as the primary point of contact for international OEM clients and domestic fab customers across the Asia region
Manage client expectations actively: set them correctly at the start, recalibrate when circumstances change, and never let misalignment fester
Own scope: document what is and isn't in scope from day one, track change requests formally, and negotiate scope adjustments with both the client and internal stakeholders
Facilitate client meetings, present project status, and handle escalations — keeping the relationship constructive even when delivery is under pressure
Collaborate with Business Development during pre-sales and project ramp-up to ensure commercial commitments are deliverable
Job requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required
5+ years of project management experience on software development projects, with full ownership of schedule, scope, and client communication
Demonstrable track record of managing scope — recognising creep early, documenting changes formally, and negotiating trade-offs
Experience working alongside engineering teams (not directing technical decisions, but understanding enough to translate between technical and client-facing conversations)
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage given our client mix
Structured and proactive: you write things down, you follow up, and you do not let ambiguity sit unaddressed
Eligible to work in Singapore
Preferred
Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing concepts (process flows, equipment types, data standards such as SEMI E30/E90/E142)
Exposure to projects involving equipment control software (SCADA, MES) or process data analytics (SPC, APC, yield analysis) — not as a technical contributor, but as the person managing the delivery
Experience coordinating across multi-site teams in Asia (Singapore, China, Japan, Korea)
PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification
What this role is not
This is not a technical role. You will work closely with Software Architects who own the technical direction — your job is not to second-guess their decisions, but to make sure those decisions are made on time, communicated clearly, and delivered against agreed commitments. Candidates who want to stay close to the code will be better served by our Architect track.
Why this role
Project management in a technically demanding domain requires real skill: the problems are complex, the clients are sophisticated, and the margin for miscommunication is low. You'll develop genuine domain knowledge over time, work in a team that takes delivery seriously, and have clear ownership over what ships — and what doesn't.
We welcome candidates from industrial automation, scientific instrumentation, defence, or other precision-engineering software domains — deep semiconductor experience is not a prerequisite.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER
Our employees are our strength and together we want to achieve the maximum. That is why we invest a lot in our employees, through generous development budgets and personal attention. According to our employees, this is what makes the difference at Sioux. We are proud of that. For us, success is more than just a good salary: it is also about feeling valued, getting responsibilities, and to be able continuously develop oneself.
No matter how experienced you are, you will continue to develop yourself on a personal level and in terms of content. You have a personal training budget of 5,000 SGD available for this, every year.
Varied work due to the diversity in technologies, markets, and projects
An open culture that focuses on collaboration, learning, and having fun
An innovative work environment
